We care about the Ocean.
And we’re using our connection to it to fuel action, creating a culture of care as we go.
Eco Yoga Surf brings together sustainability principles and practices, mindful movement and surfing citizen science. It is a trans-disciplinary approach to exploring this Blue Planet and ourselves, during a time of great crisis. What tools do we need to “be the change” and co-create a more regenerative society that can embrace the role of custodians of our Ocean?
There are ways to get involved now; wherever you are, however you can.
With a published scientific paper on the connection between surfing and ocean literacy, we now run a surfing citizen science project as part of the UN Decade of Ocean Science. We also partner with surf brands, schools and camps to add ocean literacy and citizen science into their offerings, like the online course below.
YOGA classes
We run weekly group yoga classes in Arrifana and Lagos. After all, how can we work towards Ocean wellbeing without self-care? Energising, flowing, trauma-informed vinyasa is our style, inspired by the cycles of the moon and the flux of the tide. Join us:
Mondays 12.00 - 1.15pm at Soluna Space Lagos.
Thursdays 10.00 - 11.30am at Dawn Collective Shala.
Book here via WhatsApp.
We’ve been working with Drift retreats since 2017 and are part of the team for their International locations. We bring the yoga and surf therapy so folks can feel relaxed and confident in the water. We run retreats in Indonesia, Morocco and Portugal.
Join us in Portugal for our next Drift Away: 12-18 October 2025
Join Natalie of Eco Yoga Surf to move with the seasons and truly embrace the winter with a slow flow designed to generate warmth, move stagnant energy and foster a sense deep rest. In this 75 minute online class we’ll practice a meditation, move into a slow flow yoga sequence and complete the session with a nourishing yoga nidra.
Each week we’ll have a different theme that will allow us to transition towards Spring with awareness and care for whatever is going on in our bodies and minds, our communities and on our Planet. Join for the last session this season on Tuesday 11 February and receive recordings to all four sessions.
Ocean Literacy for Surfers
Check out “A surfer’s guide to ocean literacy”, a 9 part course made exclusively for Surf with Amigas that you can now access through their online platform the Surf with Amigas Collective.
This course is designed to help take your love of the ocean to the next level, through learning about the ocean, climate, ecosystems and how humans and the ocean are inextricably interconnected.
eco
“The ocean touches you with every breath you take, every drop of water you drink, every bite you consume. Everyone, everywhere is inextricably connected to and utterly dependent upon the existence of the sea.””
yoga
““I wondered whether water is a mirror for our darker emotions as much as it is an engine for our happiness. Water quiets all the noise, all the distractions, and connects you to your own thoughts.” ”
surf
“To find success in surfing, we must learn to be in harmony with nature. This will bring a sense of peace. By sharing this peace, and contributing to other people’s happiness, we can find the true meaning of life.”
